Shatta Wale has partially helped change the Music Industry – KOD of Echo

The Morning Show Host has given some credit to Shatta Wale for the change in Ghana’s Music Industry.

Kwame Owusu Danso was in an interview with Caleb Nii Boye when the conversation veered towards comparisons of the current Music Industry to KOD’s own time.

Among the things he mentioned, Mr Danso spoke about how the motivation for music then was different from what pushes musicians now and credited the Dance Hall King’s influence in that change.

“I’m happy to say that now it (The Ghana Music Industry) is changing. Maybe it’s Partially because of Shatta Wale’s rants,” he told Caleb during their interview.

He also mentioned how personal interest in music was what drove the music industry then as compared to now when there’s profit in Ghana Music.

He said “at the time music wasn’t paying. At the times it was (pursuing a music career) partly for the music or for fun. So we did a lot of free shows. Quite a number of them”
