We slept on Kelvynboy till he gave DownFlat – KOD of Echo

Kwame Owusu Danso has been discussing Kelvinboy’s rise in the industry.

He spoke in particular about how Ghanaians failed to acknowledge the artist in spite of the back to back success of his songs.

The host of Pan Africa Television’s Morning Show spoke at length with Caleb Nii Boye about what has prevented the talented artist from succeeding.

“Two days ago I was listening to Kelvinboy’s song and telling a friend that we have slept on Kelvinboy until he gave us Down Flat. But the guy has been giving us Bangers. Where were our ears?”

Caleb, in response pointed out the apparent beef between Kelvinboy and Stonebwoy was the cause. He explained that because Kelvinboy emanated from and gained support from Bhim Nation, the artist’s decision to go against the group’s leader meant they would also go after him.

But KOD pointed out how that should not be the reason to put down an artist.

He said “We ere. We wrong people. We step on toes. And that’s how you rise. We are all climbing the same ladder so how will I climb to the top if I don’t step on a few toes?”

KOD also defended the artist, saying: “What did Kelvinboy do? Because he stood up for his rights and spoke his truth we are vilifying him?”

He went on to make a solid point, asking: “Kelvinboy emanated from Bhim Nation. Where did Stoneboy emanate from? And what is his relationship with Samini now? And that’s the point I’m making.”

He concluded that this might be one of the reasons the entertainment industry in Ghana is suffering. “Instead of pulling people up, once we are at the top we step on them and keep them down because we are the bosses.”
