P-Square pushed the narrative that will ruin their revival – Soraya Opare-Riley

Soraya Opare-Riley has said the Nigerian Duo are responsible for pushing the negative ideas that has ruined them as an act to fans.

The managing partner of Backstage Access was a panelist on Caleb Nii Boye’s show when the conversation was steered toward the revival of P-Square.

Soraya, herself a fan of the group, was of the opinion that they would not work since they themselves pushed negative narratives during their split.

She first pointed out how only great things were expected of them at their peak, before this point in time saying that: “For me personally, I think P-Square had the opportunity to do something great in the African Music Industry and they let that down.”

She then pointed out how that will be difficult as they pushed negative narratives that ruined their duo as an act to fans.

One such narrative was the vocals of Peter, to which she said: “They (P-Square) pushed that narrative that Paul was the singer and Peter was the performer. That narrative was very negative because Peter was the one that everyone liked”

Soraya added that pointing out the flaw in one brother was detrimental as fans will have a hard time buying into their music again were they to release an album in future.
She said: Now that you’ve shown everyone that he can’t sing, you’re coming to tell everyone that he can? You’ve made everyone realize that Peter doesn’t have good vocals. Are we supposed to pretend when Peter is singing the song in the music video that it’s not Paul’s voice?”
