Salifu Abdul Hafiz works with American superstar Neyo on ‘2 Million Secrets’
American singer, songwriter, and performer Neyo has released his directorial debut with the song and music film ‘2 Million Secrets.’ This project is particularly significant to Neyo as it reflects his disappointment in a metaphorical relationship that has taken advantage of him over the years, culminating in his newfound independence following recent events with his labels Motown and Def Jam Records.
The film, co-directed by Christian Gilchrist and starring actress Deborah Ayorinde, features cinematography by renowned British Director of Photography Arran Green. Ghanaian filmmaker Salifu Abdul Hafiz, who worked in the technical department for this project, expressed his joy and gratitude on Instagram for the opportunity.
He wrote: “This is my first film set in the UK, and it’s a humbling experience coming all the way from Ghana. I met amazing people who taught me so much. This is the beginning of bigger things to come.” Known as Director Hafiz, Salifu Abdul Hafiz has worked with top brands, institutions, and celebrities worldwide over the past decade, including Mr Eazi, Idris Elba, Usher, Sarkodie, King Promise, and JoeBoy, as well as organizations like USAID, UN-IFAD, BBC, Ban Ki-Moon Centre, and Global Citizens.
As the founder of Digital Creative Media, Director Hafiz and his team have delivered projects featured on major platforms such as BBC, World Economic Forum, CNN, France24, and the World Climate Summit. In an interview the filmmaker expressed his excitement about future international productions he is currently working on. He stated, “There’s more to come, and I’m excited for what we are working on.
I see myself as an ambassador for our beloved Ghana and I’m working with my team to fly the Ghanaian flag higher.” Director Hafiz also announced his upcoming annual workshop aimed at educating and empowering the next generation of filmmakers. ‘Additionally, Neyo and I have something exciting coming up.
