Announce the 2019 most popular song of the year category – Caleb Nii Boye urges Chatter House
Caleb Nii Boye, a Ghanaian entertainment Journalist has implored Charterhouse, organizers of the Ghana Music Awards to announce the winner for the most popular song category in 2019. The Artiste of the year and Most popular song of the year awards were not announced at the 2019 edition of the Ghana Music Awards as a result of a brawl between Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy on the night.
At this year’s edition of the Ghana Music Awards, while delivering his acceptance speech as the Artiste of the Year, Stonebwoy pleaded with Charter House to announce the 2019 Artiste of the Year which he believed to be him. According to Robert Klah, the PRO for Charter House, Charterhouse have actually met on Stonebwoy suggestion on announcing the winner of the 2019 Artiste of the year.
Caleb Nii Boye is of the view that Charterhouse announces both the 2019 artiste of the year and post popular song of the Year categories. According to Caleb, that was a competitive category. “ In as much as we all weren’t happy with what happened on that fateful night, we also must also appreciate the fact that— musicians worked hard within that year and it is only proper that after banning the musicians in question, for a period, we can only go back to it for a closure.
I also suggest that the Most popular song category should also be announced, because that was a keenly contested category” he said in a Facebook post. Stonebwoy won the artiste of the year at the just ended Ghana Music Awards.
